Sunnah method of entering and exiting the mosque

Going to the mosque as soon as possible, as the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

"If man knew what (the reward) is in the call to prayer and the first row, and there was no other way of attaining it (the reward) except by lottery, then he would have played the lottery."

If they had the (reward) of early Juhr prayer, they would have competed for it.  If they had known the virtues of performing Isha and Fajr prayers in congregation, they would have come to perform them even if they had to crawl.

Reciting dua while going to mosque-

Meaning:  Allah, give light to my heart, give light to my tongue, give light between my ears, give light between my eyes, give light behind me, give light before me and give light above me and give light below me.  Allah, shower light on me.

 Walking with Sakinah and Walker.
Sakinah is healing slowly and abstaining from haste.  A walker is to lower the gaze and lower the voice, and to refrain from excessive glancing
Walking to the mosque, so that the sins fall away and the dignity in Paradise increases.

Leading towards the first row, as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:

"If man knew what (reward) is in the call to prayer and the first row and had no other way of attaining it (reward) except by lottery, he would have done his lottery.

Dua reading while leaving the mosque:

Meaning: 'O Allah, I seek Your Fadl (reward)'

Sunnah methods of answering the call to prayer

  1.  A person who listens to the call to prayer will only repeat what the muezzin says

  In response, say:

Meaning: 'There is no power and no power except Allah.

The benefit of this Sunnah is that it makes Jannah essential which is mentioned in the narration of Muslim.

  2.  After hearing the call to prayer, say:

Meaning: 'I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, He is One, He has no partners.  And I also bear witness that Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is His servant and Messenger.  I am satisfied with Allah as Lord and Muhammad as Messenger and Islam as religion.

The benefit of this Sunnah is that the person's sins will be forgiven.

  3.  Then send Salat and Salam (Drood) upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.

  Ibraheem will recite full Darood.
