 What are the Sunnah methods of wearing Surma

Surma should be applied three times at night before going to bed.

Surma will be applied by any one of the three methods.

         First method:

         Surma should be given three times separately in each eye.  That is - first three times in the right eye.  Then three times in the left eye.  Once from the left side.  Once again from the right side.  In this way the left eye once from the right side.  Then once from the left side.  Once again from the right side.  This is the first method.



         Second method:



         Surma should be applied to both eyes simultaneously so that each eye should be applied three times on an average.  That is, first once from the right side of the right eye.  Then once from the right side of the left eye.  In this way, once in the right eye from the left.  Once in the left eye from the left side.  Again in the right eye once from the right side.  In this way surma will be used three times on average.



         The third method:



         The Prophet used to apply salsnalsnahu alaihi wasalsnaam three times on the right eye and twice on the left eye.  So, Surma can be applied in this method as well.
