  There are two types of graves (1) Ark graves.  (2) Bugli Grave.  Bugli burial is not possible as the soil in most parts of our country is generally soft.  This is why ark graves are dug.

  Bugli method of digging graves

  First, dig a hole 4 cubits long, two and a half cubits wide, and two and a half cubits deep in the north-south direction.  Then, under the wall on the west side, make a long hole in the north-south direction and place the body there.



  Method of Excavating Ark Graves

  Make the grave slightly longer than the body length of the deceased.  It should not be longer than this.  The length of the deceased's body shall be half the width.  After digging a depth of one and a half cubits, another small pit is dug in the grave for the body.  The pit shall be equal to the length of the body of the deceased and shall be twenty cubits in breadth and one and a half cubits in depth.  This is the sunnah of digging an ark grave.  But Bugli grave is better than Sindaki grave.
